Our true leaders never seem to be in politics? I suppose it would corrupt them as it has others, and the corruption of government would be perpetuated? Brueggeman maintained godly purity and is missed. May his spirit though continue to inspire.
Thank you so much. Walter Brueggeman shaped the way I learned to see the world, learned how to listen, and learned how to give joyfully. An extraordinary man!
My beloved husband Dr. Garry Scheuer and I were blessed in friendship with Walter during seminary years at Eden and mutual pastoral time with the UCC. It was such a gift to hear his voice and laughter during your interview Krista. Now both of them have left so many ongoing gifts of their career in writing and ministry to strengthen the faith of others as we try to navigate this complex world that is our challenge.
Walter Brueggemann’s worldview is so inspiring. I was thrilled to hear him quote Isaiah 43:19, one of the most meaningful verses in the Bible to me as far as finding the strength to move on with hope and faith from trouble in one’s life. A great communicator—both you and him. I’m so thankful to have your interview with him to listen to, Krista.
Thanks for bringing this out of the archives, it provided much needed hope and comfort, the timelessness of our universe. Trust in the King of the universe.
I recommend his writing to people--when they read it, they seem to be stricken and remember it well--Truth of the Great Soul of Sister Wisdom speaking through his words--thanks for sharing--and the responses here indicate that my experience is general--he has been a great inspiration to my own religious experience and to my writing as well

There is so much in this interview!! An interview to listen to over and over. It truly opened my eyes.
Our world is the worse for no longer having Walter Brueggemann in it.
Thank you for bringing back this conversation.
