What a great listen. I enjoyed the warmth, intelligence and humanity of this conversation. Krista Tippett continues to probe questions related to our inner landscape - our contradictions and enjoying “the question”. Back to Rilke and our need to keep offering and searching for grace. With gratitude.

I loved this. The whole spiritual perspectives really reminded me of that grander perspectives the monastics have. The whole social media world works to get us lost into the many worries of the day to day and thus distracts us from a grander perspective which can transcend those worries. Also listening to Krista’s background was like listening to a friend with whom I share many significant experiences who made us who we are. Thank you to both 🙏

Does Sarah Jones really want to know who hurt poor and working class Americans? She did. People like her. And she is still hurting poor and working class Americans.

Sarah grew up wealthy and attended exclusive private schools. She is a member of an out of touch elite who play at being "oppressed" because being oppressed is fun when it's only a game.

From her website: "Sarah is the director, writer, producer, and star of the film Sell/Buy/Date (2022) The film, produced by her company Foment Productions and executive produced by Academy Award-winner Meryl Streep, explores the intersection of racial identity, gender justice and economic disparities through the lens of people in the sex industry, with the intention to empower and center their stories."

Center whose stories, Sarah?? Mine?

I was raped by my father as a child and trafficked.

Did you center my story in your little film? I'm beige, so I doubt it. My guess is that you did what most of your class do and minimized the horror of being raped for a living. Being raped is not "work" just like committing rape (which is what sex buyers do) is not "resistance".

Also on her website: "she is devoted to building a movement that promotes collective healing and affirmation for all people, starting with Black women and femmes."

Collective healing for "all" people?

She's already excluded most black women, who are far more conservative than most other demographics and do not consider themselves in the same category as black "femmes" (black men who act feminine).

By declaring herself a spokeswoman for the Black community she has already excluded most black Americans.

Sarah also defends "cancel culture" by claiming "Black communities, communities of color, LGBTQAI+ individuals, women and other “minorities” have already been canceled for hundreds of years."

First of all, being excluded is not the same as being "cancelled" which has a sadistic quality to it and which has driven some people to suicide.

Second of all, she herself excludes poor and working class people from her list of those who've been cancelled - perhaps because she cancels them, too.

She also, like so many of her "progressive" class, is grossly hypocritical when it comes to Israel, the ONLY country in the Middle East that protects the very people she plays at "caring" so much about (try being black, female, "femme" or LGBTQAI in any Middle Eastern country except Israel- but then, you'd have to sincerely care about those people to take note of that fact).

You want to know who hurt the poor and working class people of America, Sarah? Across all racial and gender lines?

You did, Sarah. You are still hurting us.

Please stop.
