Thank you Krista! I loved this interview!

More than ever, we need to hear from our female elders. We need to hear their stories of courage, loss and resiliency, especially when women continue to be the targets of domestic abuse, violence, rape and incest. Both women and men need to be reminded that "Women are the first environment."

Katsi Cook is a true Sage Warrior.

We are a ritual-poor society? Yes and no. I was listening to this interview while having the Tv on, muted, showing the funeral of Pope Francis. The costumes! The rituals! The pomp! But, of course, not all of us Westerners are catholics. Embedded in such rotuals. Still, the juxtaposition of two paradigms smacked me in the face: the feminine and the masculine! Here a circle of all women talking about the symbology of midwifery and passing on the treasures of eternal wisdom "from womb to tomb " on the one hand; on the other hand, a patriarchal system with major heads of state present, mostly men, conducting worldly business on the side! The disparity could not.be greater! I think it's clear which paradigm I prefer.

Th article is fabulous, it's very relatable. In India the most revered book of Hinduism - Bhagwat GITA also personifies feminine energy as nature or "prakriti". It has all attributes of the motherly power to nurture, protect and heal problems of humanity.
