Jane's death hit me harder than I would have expected. She was a great woman in all the ways I admire and respect. May we rise to her call to care for our Mother Earth and all who reside here.
Death is physical - as is life. And it is the life part that we seem to live on screen these days rather than in our bodies. Jane reminded us of this. We need our bodies in life to fully live. thank you Jane for a life well lived - fully embodied. May we also come to walk softly on this earth - in this earth.
The accompanying photo captured what I imagine to be a common “Krista” moment, with full, warm attention on another, eager to learn and ready for a deep relational dive. Beautiful!
She was a mentor for the young girl I once was. She continues to move me the way she did when I was 10, committed to saving nature. I became a wildlife biologist because of her. All of my accomplishments in this life I owe to her. See you on the other side dear Jane.
One of my favourite On Being podcasts. A truly inspirational woman and role model. And yes we miss you Krista! Thank you for your ongoing commitment to making the world a more wholesome place!
Jane continues to be a light that shines in the darkness of our existence. She was fully human, just like Jesus. If I were in charge of life and death she would live forever!

Thank you for this beautiful tribute. Jane Goodall was truly remarkable ... not only as a pioneering scientist but as an extraordinary human being. Even though I didn’t follow the same path in my scientific journey, I’ve been deeply inspired by her courage, her curiosity, and the way she carried herself with integrity and compassion. Seeing a strong woman like her thrive in science and in life has meant so much to me and to countless others. I hope that her legacy continues to guide and empower scientists, especially women, as we carve our own paths in research and discovery.

Could not have said it better if I tried, Lisa ⚡️
