This reminds me of a page from, “Life’s Little Instruction Book.” When I was 13, there was a copy on the coffee table at the home of a family I babysat for. It said something like: “Remember that everyone you meet loves someone, has lost someone, and is afraid of something.” That has always stayed with me.
A completely appropriate request in these heightened times of paper thin tolerence. Being kind is a prescription that transcends our differences and fulfills our most common human need. Please come to Australia soon Krista. We need the softness and passion of your words, your intelligence and your presence. Blessings for your session of generosity 💜🙏🏼
Thank you Krista for these beautiful words and for all that you do to help keep our humanity alive in these difficult times. Best wishes for a peaceful holiday season.
Blessings to you, Krista, and thank you for the good magic you weave. The world is brighter for your presence and I am grateful. Wishing you peace, perfect peace.
I was in NYC on business and able to attend your incredible conversation with Joy Harjo and Tracy K Smith last month. Joy said that times of great chaos are the gestation points of creativity and change (paraphrased) and I have held that close since. Also how beautifully and wisely Tracy articulated that we are all connected. Thank you for what you and your team bring into the world with On Being. It has always mattered greatly but is especially necessary now.
This is gently and eloquently done. I was lucky enough to be raised on a similar philosophy, but I didn't know where the original idea was attributable to. My Mum used to say be kind, above all, be kind you never know what is going on behind clothes doors.

Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind always.

Grateful to you for the ways you (and others on your team) keep the candle of hope burning in the window of the world.
I've read from the Dalai Lama: "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible". Blessings to you Krista, for your presence.
